| Missing Lindener found floating in Demerara River |
 |
|
 |
The body of a man who went missing since Saturday night and was feared drowned was fished out of the Demerara River at Old England, yesterday, almost half a mile from where his boat was found drifting Sunday morning.
According to reports, 66-year-old Amos Pearson, had been drinking on Saturday evening at a village beer garden. He left the location with an ex brother-in-law to go home.
The men reportedly had to travel at least a mile in the small paddle boat to get to their respective homes.
The ex-brother-in-law was dropped off by Pearson, at his ‘landing’ and Pearson continued on his way home, according to reports. However, he never made it there.
His boat was found drifting the following morning, with a loaf of bread, which he had reportedly bought for his dinner.
Residents of Old England subsequently began a frantic search for the man, but came up empty handed.
His body was discovered early yesterday tangled in some ‘brambles’ along the river’s edge.
His brother-in- law, George Savory, was yesterday assisting police in their investigations.
He was the last person to have seen Pearson alive. |

I wonder how long it will be before Guyana's economy will develop to the point that we can have a police force that will have a river patrol. |

My deepest sympathy go out to the family of Amos especially his son Dexter. My dad use to own a sawmill in Old England and we would often see Amos and his family at the bus shed. |

This is very sad for the family, and my deepest sympathy goes out to them. Its not nice to say bad things about the dead but I have known this man since i was a kid and he is always drunk. May his soul rest in peace. Warning to all drinkers, DO NOT LET ALCOHOL CONTROL YOUR LIVES. TAKE CONTROL OF ALCOHOL, JUST MIGHT SAVE YOUR LIVE. |

Oh man that is so sad, my deepest sympathy to his family. When you drink your vision becomes impaired. You should not attempt to operate any mode of transportation. |
