Break the Monotony!!
Come on people, let's show the world that we are not online to attack each other but instead to motivate, elevate and come together as an online community. Lets share information about our experience assimilation here in the U.S.A., job opportunities, education, etc. things that will benefit us as a whole. Not to mention becoming involved in a cause that would help those in need in Guyana.

Okay Gt teddy!
It's a shame that you are illiterate and stuck on stupid, have you ever heard about the word OPINION? Don't come at me with your ignorance post your opinions but don't come at me, I post my opinion. And for your information. I'm saying aside from the large gathering there should be things to do. But since you are a knockle head and don't know any better. Why don't you start by learning to respect other people's opinions!!! You have yours and have mine OKAY. I don't have to agree with you or anyone. FYI I left GT when I was 9 I'm now 37. Happily married and have two american children and yes when I left GT they sold Cotton candy at Stabroek have you ever been to GEORGETOWN??? LOL Gtteddy how FAT are U????

Guyana Day '06
This was a waste of time, if you ask me. There were a bunch of people sitting around, under tents. There wasn't any activities for the children to take part in, we got all dressed up to go see what the other person looked like. What about the fun day? No, I meant what fun day???there wasn't any fun activities. Poor organization, we need rides and games, cotton candy carts, popcorn carts, something fun for the children to do next time...

The Mittelholzer Foundation
We would greatly appreciate it if you could please forward the following news item to all your friends and family and and encourage them to participate in our discussion. The Mittelholzer Foundation is a non-partisan civic organization and we desperately need the input and participation of everyone as we want to bring together all Guyanese people into a productive dialogue where we can all share our beautiful culture and experiences. We cannot do this alone and we need the help of all Guyanese . Thank you for your time and we eagerly await your reply.
Respectfully,
The Mittelholzer Foundation

Mittelholzer Foundation hosts political, social discussion
Sunday, July 9th 2006
The Mittelholzer Foundation, an online forum designed to facilitate discussions on uniting Guyana, is inviting citizens to post their views on issues affecting their daily lives on its website.
The group said it is only through an examination of our cultural and literary history that we become aware of the pain and suffering of our ancestors who fought for freedom and independence and citizens can muster the same strength to move Guyana from a society which blames other ethnic groups and political parties for problems to one filled with promise and opportunity.
A statement from the foundation said it was named in honour of the late renowned Guyanese novelist Edgar Mittelholzer who, in his time, critiqued the injustices prevalent in the society.
It is this spirit of civic responsibility that compelled the family to set up the forum to encourage interaction without the shadow of race and social standing. In keeping with this the foundation has invited the leaders of each political party to a discussion where they can state their ideologies and position on topical issues.
Citizens are also invited to participate in the discussions by posting questions to the party leaders or on other issues on the foundation's website located at http://www.mittelholzer.org/forum/ The foundation also plans to republish Mittelholzer's works as it believes his novels transcend race and class tensions and celebrate Guyanese and Caribbean culture.
The release said the author's works were published over the course of 19 years and Corentyne Thunder (1941) and Eltonsbrody (1960) remain among the most celebrated.

1) Maine is the only state whose name is just one syllable.
2) No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple.
3) "Dreamt" is the only English word that ends in the letters "mt".

5) The sentence: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter of the alphabet.
6) The words 'racecar,' 'kayak' and 'level' are the same whether they are read left to right or right to left (palindromes).
7) There are only four words in the English language which end in "dous": tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous.
8) There are two words in the English language that have all five vowels in order: "abstemious" and "facetious."
9) TYPEWRITER is the longest word that can be made using the letters only on one row of the keyboard.

WHY PARENTS DRINK
A boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello."
"Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?"
The child whispered, "No."
Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"
"Yes."
"May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No."
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing more worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked,
"What is that noise?"
"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.
Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed the helicopter."
Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle:
"ME."

CHOICES
RexBarker@HumorNetwork.com
Jerry is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life. "Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life." I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
This is Rex Barker, CS (making a Choice for Smiling with a positive attitude) reminding you that everyday we are given choices how to see things. We may not be able to change the circumstances, but we can certainly change our outlook and how we think. And this changed perspective will in the end change our circumstances.

oh don't be so cold....To the inquiring minds Guyana Day was Great from my perspectives....the music and Adrian's performance...it was all good..ppl got to reconnect with friends ....but you know nothing goes all smooth with some guyanese ppl..they had bout 2 fights that broke out and a fool was throwing bottles at ppl...the girls and guys were all dressed to impress with the exception of few...we had a good hr wait to get home so it was like a party while leaving de parksome ppl had to walk and catch a ride while others jump on the MTA but never the less everyone had a good time.

Solo
Poem to a Friend
I remember when you first call me friend
In the very town Linden
The last region of Ten
Between Amilias ward and Wisroc
Through thousands I search for a friend
To double my joys, and divide my sorrows
While I sip on this cold banks at Barrows.

Multi Scholarship
I am interested in donating to the scholarship and can solicit money from a few individuals for the cause. I remember someone from multi who despite many obstacles was an astute student. Anyone remember Dexter Phillips (Longie) who attended Multi in the 80's, BOY! did he struggle by pushing his go cart after school and during the weekends to help support his family. Despite all of this, he was an excellent student. Let's try to help our fellow Guyanese.

Poem to a Friend
I remember when you first call me friend
In the very town Linden
The last region of Ten
Between Amilias ward and Wisroc
Through thousands I search for a friend
To double my joys, and divide my sorrows
While I sip on this cold banks at Barrows.
