Why all the hate people?
By Mel @ Farmingdale NY USA

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

Why all the hate people, its so nice to see OUR(and let me stress on OUR) fellow lindeners in the spot light, we all deserve it and if Ms Lois Moseley pics are tacky and ghetto, so what. If thats what it takes well so be it. No one had stressed on Tomika Marshall pics! And Lois is trying to do something good that would make people recongise Linden. U know soemthing, esp to those foolish ppl arguing about their fellow Lindeners: U r in the USA or Canada, how much ppl knows about Guyana from those countries, not much. Well for me ppl think that Guyana is backward and u know soemthing u guys are making it clear to them that it is. So stop all the hating and lets each cooperate and show our fellow Lindener (LOIS MOSELEY) support.
Thank u for reading this, have a nice day.

Stop, it making us look bad.
By Den @  Brooklyn,NY

Sunday, January 14, 2007

Do we ever stop to think that we are going 4 step backward instead of 4 steps ahead. We constantly fight about the little things when there is so much happening around us. I am not talking anyone down because none of us are perfect. Why can't we come together as one and work this situation out. One thing that we a misunderstanding is everyone stands to benefit from Linden Towns Day. Work together, show our present and further generation that we stand for out motto, One People, One Nation, One Destiny. I live overseas and I would want to bring friends to visit my town Linden to experience Linden Town Day, but why should I if there is confusion instead of together. I have visit other Caribbean countries and if they can do it why can't we. Anyway come together, work as one and try to remember result. Linden Foundation Secondary as taught it students to strive for higher heights, that what we as Lindener so work with.

This message goes out to all who think they know it all, first and for most I want to say hello to all my lindeners. All of those who are giving their personal comments about this whole big confuse about townday 2k7 needs to go to the source before judging anyone. Miss lovelyn first of all u need to spell check your message before u send it and since you talking about 2 million is nothing why don't u give it put your money where your mouth is. Townday 2k6 was one of the first most successfull townweek in all the years of linden townday.

Town Week(which only came about when S&K along with the LindenFund USA came aboard)2k6 was the talk of all towns and abroad so everyone will go home expecting the same or more this year, and because the IMC are being so greedy(MORE MONEY MONEY PROBLEM, MONEY IS THE SORUCE OF ALL EVIL) request more money and no one can see what was done with the money they received last year.

The outcome is going to be nasty because linden on the whole will lose out for example, the vendors and business owner and no one will return the following year.

Denial of Guyanese Heritage

I dont understand why people deny their heritage from. Its what you are. I will admit when I was 13 and went back to Guyana I always would embrace my American Heritage. I was born in Guyana and came to the states at 3 months. But when I was 21 thats when I started to embrace my culture. People were always interested on my heritage and when I told them Guyanese. They wanted to learn more and wanted to know if the people were as nice as me. Being that I model, I have met so many Guyanese models who don't even embrace their heritage and its really sad. If they would know its their damn heritage who got them where they are at today. I don't know its sad. But you can't keep pretending to be something that your not. If your Guyanese by birth well your Guyanese. My siblings were born in the states, technically yes they are American. But they embrace that flag to the fullest. I thank my parents because they would always tell me Aleaise when you get older you will eventually start to embrace your roots. I am proud of being of Guyanese heritage. The men and women are so smart, attractive, and nice! So those who deny their heritage I simply pity you

Lost Friend/Jeffrey Fryer
By Ena Lachman @ London  United Kingdom

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

I went to Berbice High School in New Amsterdam
and knew Jeffrey Fryer, a very wonderful young man whom I have never forgotten. This was around 1949/50. He had 2 younger brothers;
Gordon and William and they lived in New Street, New Amsterdam.
I saw Jeffrey when he worked for the Jewellers in Georgetown and after that when we said goodbye to each other as we dismounted from our bicycles by the roadside. It was very sad. I left Guyana in 1957 to study in the UK; and I have never heard from or seen Jeffrey again.

We are both older now, actually he is a year or two older than me, because he was in a higher class, but what a thrill it would be to hear from him again and to share our life experiences. Mine would make him cry, I know.
Thank you so much for all your help.
