Well I am always telling it the way it is - I did thing when I was young that I am not proud of. The thing that get to me the most is when people act as if they are better than you and they got glass house. For example, all the children that are big people now, do not even that all of them have different fathers and all their fathers are married. as for the shop lifters that was since back home. Macy's security have their picture posted on the wall to keep an eye when they enter the store. So if you want go down to the landlord tennat court downtown Brooklyn and you will see a lot people their because they did not pay their rent. This all I have to say for now and I am still waiting for the last breakfast and town week pictures. |

I was very touched when I read the comments made about Linden people . Which brings to mind and old saying clothes don't make the man. It was refreshing after living here for ten years to be back in my hometown in December. Linden people are warm and friendly. Linden is like New York , people came from all over Guyana and neigboring countries to seek employment at Demba / Guybau , etc etc in the good old days. That is why Linden is so unique. Enjoy your fresh fruits and vegetables , fresh poultry and continue to enjoy good health. Stay out the sun and continue to live in harmony. Make use of your land and plant something . Look around the world they are countries that would love to have fertile soil like Guyana have. |

I was very impressed to say the least at how the Lindeners look well . Take away the fancy clothes amd Mac makeup from a lot of us that went back for the Town Day and we are not aging well. Which made me look at myself and realize I am pushing the buttons working two jobs with very little sleep. Keeping up with the Jones ain't easy. I slept like it was going out of style while down there. I advise everyone to read "The Purpose Driven Life " it is helping me to love myself and stop living for others. God bless my fellow Lindeners who knows that a pretentious showy life is an empty life. A plain and simple life is a full life. I love you all . I enjoyed the fresh foods . I wish that the water supply will improve since we are forced to buy Water. I pray that Linden get more street lights. |

I know we grew up speaking our creole and Guyanese language. I know also when we learnt to read and write they taught us proper English. For me, whenever we talk it is fine to speak how you wish as long as the person can understand. That's us, Guyanese, that's how we speak. This is just for me, and only me,I find it hard to read that kind of language. I think and this again is me, I prefer to write properly so that someone can understand. I don't care about spelling mistakes or even proper grammer as long as I can understand what is being said. This creole is really hard to understand for some of us or maybe me when written. I don't mind talking it but I find it hard to follow the articles when someone writes it. Anyways do what you have to do and continue to write the way you can communicate but I just wanted to put out my comment. |

Madman u is the rite one fah dem. Dem sai ya mad and ya want stronger dose of medication to shut up but me like how u put it on dem. For Rachael, Linden ppl come from all parts of the country to settle there, some went to work,some to prostitute and some to find a man so what it got to do wid who gat permanant residence or citizenship. Is Guyana we from and everybody know somebody somewhere. Too bad who feel hurt when dem outsider according to Rachael mess them up. An eye for eye, Do back the same. Mavis leff we to we own ppl, Joan and de rest of them gon put it on them. I read this site often and watch to see how we so-called Linden citizens fight each other in words, more less in action.Jealousy and envy nah leff we, we want wah we mattie got. We nah tek care of we pickney just to go in Danice and buy cheap clothes to put on facebook. We nah pay rent and getting throw out because we want show people we can dress up. We dam self-esteem so low that we going and beg for lil lodging and eating at Mcdonald and the Chinese Store everyday. Some of we can't tell the last day we cook a pot, but we deh begging we neighba for lil food when dem cook. Some of we was betta off staying in the bauxite dust, what dem call the mining business town.We nah fah shut out nobody. Who want to gave them comments, go ahead, its a free site, open to the public.Madman continue yor good wrks, me know u are a born, true Lindender like what Rachael looking for. Me spent me last days of high school there after meh daddy got transferred wid he job, but meh momma always warned me to be careful, dem nah easy and de little me had me prove it. Well me always support de town day when me was home and up to now no body cannot tell me who won the pageant. Lindeners sucks and without the support of outsiders all ya lost. All de years is ppl from all parts of de country does make the town day, Linden fair, football and all the events that take place there a success. Kashif and Shangai made de right decision when dem move the football to the East Bank to accommodate all of Guyana because leve it to Lindeners alone it would have eventually become a failure. These men got good visions so that confusing low-life that talking bout outsiders should keep out need to shut the hell up because its only the outsiders can tell you about yur nasty tricks and dirty lifestyle and u would try to fix it if you want to, because a bitch can't help a bitch when all of yu think,act and ssmell the same, somebody got to come from outside and tell you your dirty story.Bitch you is not going to stop getting you corretions from ppl that came from whereva. If you want that let them put a sign FOR LINDENERS ONLY. PPl show the winner of the beauty pageant this year. I am always interested |

I was born in linden those days was Mc kenzie, I just aint jump in Linden,My Mother from Christianburg my Father from Comacka Mines.I went to school in linden,Ah move back to linden and a married a Linden man with buxton connection by his Mother so I can't get throw out a Linden,nor run out a Linden and a gat meh citizenship by birth for Linden and not permanent residence or landed immigrant or refugee status. Since Town week was a success , can the Town Council fill us in as how well the Town did Financially? I guess the Council is now in a position to buy a garbage. Removal truck. I hope most of the profits stayed in Linden. I hope this is not a get rich quick scheme. To date no one has not even sponsored the pictures @ guymine.com .Linden is financially strapped and we should not allow ourself to be fooled. How long are we going to sit back and get robbed with our eyes wide open all in the name of partying. These are the questions that need to be raised. |

Me live rite hay and de town day shud be call WALK IN DE HOT SUN AND GET NUFF SUN BUN AND LEH PPL SEE U COM DAY. IT nah mek no sense at all. it is all about dem youths and dem stupidness and dem borin over-seas who nah got no life in de States and whereeva else dem com from and want ppl to watch dem, cause nobody does watch dem overseas.Me family come in and dem say dem neva comin back fah a next Walk in de Sun day. Madman, Townweek is a show off for the people that are going down. Check this out, look at all that old queens with them little boys down there for the short time they are there for. Some of those same old QUEENS are married up here in the states. As for the old man them that is another story - even the BLUE pill can't help some of them. I read about the poor or non-attendance of participants and the public at the LFU sponsored events during Town Week 2011. Are you surprised? I'm not!!!!
The format and content of those activities have not changed period. I hope the leadership of the organization begins to realize that Lindeners are now aware that it is all a "poppy show". The LFU folks under the guise of community service use their trips to Linden as opportunities to "pomp scene". Not to mention any names, it all about meeting "ones" and "partying". Do realize that the "pull back" effect is also everpresent in New York. Canada and Atlanta. The organization has out lived its usefullnes under its current leadership and must revisit its purpose to determine whether it has any residual value... |
